We have been surfing together for well over 15 years and have developed a friendship and brotherhood that is based in nature. Over that time, we have shared many surfing adventures, which have really enriched our lives and friendship.
There has been many early starts, driving a couple of hours to the coast in Victoria, pre dawn, to paddle out at first light.
We have had many memorable sessions together – sometimes epic (and sometimes crappy) waves, many amazing sunrises, long conversations, good and bad coffee, and always great soul food being in the water, catching waves.
We both have a passion for healthy environments, sustainability, and looking for solutions to the ecological issues and crises that we are collectively facing.
We were also both increasingly disillusioned and nonplussed with conventional surfboard materials – realising how toxic and unsustainable the industry is, and how poorly conventional boards hold up to general use.
We discovered how sustainably grown timber and plant based resins can be used to make a surfboard which is a far stronger, lighter and higher performing board in every way and whose environmental toxicity and ecological footprint is orders of magnitude less than a conventional surfboard,
With a combined surfing history of 60+ years between us, we can honestly say that these are our favourite boards ever!
